We check your pet’s mouth, teeth, gums, and overall oral health before cleaning.
Your pet is gently positioned to keep them calm, comfortable, and relaxed throughout the cleaning.
A gentle oral rinse helps loosen debris and prepare the mouth for a thorough cleaning.
Our K-9 Dental Hygienists carefully remove plaque and tartar from the teeth and along the gumline.
We check the gums and gently probe around the teeth to identify signs of periodontal concerns.
Each tooth is polished to smooth the surface and help reduce future plaque buildup
A final rinse removes remaining debris, followed by a UV check to identify any missed tartar.
You receive a dental report card with our findings and recommendations for your pet’s ongoing oral care.
A $35 deposit reserves your appointment and is applied toward the $295 total.

Every appointment begins with an Oral Health Evaluation. Before beginning the cleaning, our veterinary team will evaluate your pet's mouth to make sure a non-anesthetic dental cleaning is appropriate. We look for loose teeth, advanced periodontal disease, significant gum recession or root exposure, infection, pain, and other concerns that may require dental x-rays or treatment under anesthesia.
Non-anesthetic dental cleanings are preventative care. Without dental x-rays, we cannot evaluate what may be happening beneath the gumline or below the surface of the tooth. Non-anesthetic dental cleanings are an important part of preventative oral care, but they do not replace anesthetic dentistry when x-rays, extractions, or treatment of advanced periodontal disease are needed. What if we can't complete the cleaning?
If our evaluation determines that your pet has advanced dental disease or another oral health concern that makes a non-anesthetic cleaning inappropriate, we will explain our findings and recommend that you follow up with your veterinarian for an anesthetic dental evaluation. Your $35 appointment deposit will be applied toward the Oral Health Evaluation performed during your visit. This includes our professional assessment of your pet's mouth, documentation of areas of concern, a dental report card showing our findings, and recommendations for appropriate follow-up care.

Periodontal disease is dangerous for pets, and in some cases is known to take up to two years or more off of a pet’s life, if left untreated. It only takes several weeks for plaque to start building up on your dog’s teeth.
If left unchecked, periodontal disease will grow rapidly. A study of 52 miniature schnauzers showed that 98% of the dogs had developed some level of periodontitis within 30 weeks of stopping toothbrushing.
Usually this procedure will only take 30-45 minutes and we discourage owners from being in the room. If we immediately find problems that need your veterinarian’s attention, for example teeth that need to be extracted, we will refer you back to your Vet to have a dental under anesthesia.
During the dental, if we find any additional problems, we will put the information on your report card so you can discuss any further action with your own veterinarian.
We charge a flat rate, all-inclusive fee of $295 for a dental cleaning for a dog or cat, so you know exactly what to expect at the time of your appointment. The appointment in 45 minutes in length regardless of the size of the animal.
Yes, non-anesthetic dental cleanings can be done on older pets and pets with chronic kidney, or liver disease who might not be a good candidate for a dental cleaning under anesthesia.
While we can clean the vast majority of dogs and cats there are some for whom it is not appropriate. Examples would be pets with severe gingivitis, caries, fractured teeth, abscesses, stomatitis, tumors, etc.
Whenever our technicians discover loose or any other condition that needs your veterinarian’s intervention, they will write the information down for you so you can bring it to your veterinarian’s attention. Call our office for more information!
